Lead
Leadership Environments are places where we want to equip people
to lead faithfully with Jesus at the center of their lives.

Leadership was an important element of Jesus’ ministry on earth.  He led a small group of disciples and they became the catalyst to “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20).  Leadership is the cornerstone to fulfilling God’s mission.  At Crossroads we must be faithful and diligent in equipping people to lead God’s church and be leaders for Christ in the world.

Our Leadership Environments:

Elders

There will be an Elder Team eventually put in place who oversees the spiritual direction
and health of the church along with the Senior Pastor and other designated Pastors. This
will consist of those who feel called to this level of leadership, are qualified based on the
Elder Structure and who will be nominated and selected by the church.

Staff

There is a designated Senior Pastor, employed by the church, who is the overseer of the
church body.  The Senior Pastor is hired through a process which would involve the four
teams who oversee the church, the Personnel Team and ultimately the church.

There can be other designated Pastors, employed by the church, which are decided upon
by the Pastor in cooperation with the Elder Team and Administrative Team. (Examples: Co-Pastor, Worship Pastor, Discipleship Pastor)

There is an employed Ministerial Staff in the church to oversee the designated ministries in
the church.  This team is under the supervision of the Senior Pastor who can then designate
other Pastors to supervisory roles over the staff.  The ministerial staff will be hired by the
Senior Pastor in cooperation with other Pastors, the Elder Team, and the Personnel Team.

Ministry Teams

There are Ministry Coordinators who function in a volunteer capacity to oversee specific
ministries created to meet the needs of the vision and mission of the church.  These volunteers
are believers, members of the church, will have completed the four Crosstraining classes and
attend leadership gatherings and trainings.  They have demonstrated a commitment to the vision
and mission of the church, the leadership of the church and a continued spiritual growth process.

Leadership Gatherings

These are environments created for the leaders in the church to gather and grow together.  This may be for fellowship, equipping, visioning,  brainstorming and praying.  These gatherings are
usually held twice a year.  Smaller and specific leadership gatherings are also held when needed
for specific areas of ministry.
