Believer's Baptism

In keeping with Christ's command in Matthew 28:19, we practice believer's baptism by immersion at Crossroads:

"Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Matthew 28:19 NIV

Baptism can take place at anytime you feel led to follow through with this spiritual next step. We can baptize in our worship center, a backyard pool, lake or river. For Crossroads, we celebrate baptism once a year in connection to our church’s anniversary. The first Sunday in June we go down to the middle Bosque River at the Bone Farm where families gather to be a part of a special baptism service.

Before someone is baptized, we seek to prepare those being baptized with the following steps:

  • Teaching of the Biblical purpose of baptism. (This is covered in Crosstraining 101)
  • Personal practical preparation is provided for your special day of celebration including the sharing of your testimony, what to wear and what to expect.
  • Personal invitations to friends and family to attend your Baptism service are welcomed. You may also invite family, friends or mentors who were instrumental in your spiritual walk to join you in the water during your baptism.
  • Adults, children and youth wanting to be baptized are mentored by their ministry or small group leader who will walk them through their readiness for baptism and what it means to live life as a Christian. Each person will receive a book that helps them understand their new life in Christ and journal their experience.
  • When you are baptized, you will receive a Certificate of Baptism from Crossroads Fellowship.

If you would like more information about baptism at Crossroads or to inquire about being baptized, contact one of our Pastors or Staff members.
